Beginner schedules and how to get started

As a beginner, it makes sense to start with a biphasic schedule first. They are much easier to adapt to, while still offering most of the benefits of polyphasic schedules.

Outside of biphasic schedules, it is best to only attempt ones with a difficulty of 0 (Trivial) to 2 (Moderate), as anything Hard or worse is usually just going to end in frustration when lacking experience, in part also because managing problems you encounter requires it.

Do not on the other hand attempt NapOnly schedules. These require a genetic mutation to work, and only a small amount of people have it. If you have it too, you'll notice that you usually sleep about 6h or less on mono, assuming decent sleep-hygiene. And no, this isn't about average or minimum, this is about sleeping 6h every day, weekend or not. And even if you have this mutation, you'll probably not have a good time, and are still likely to not adapt. adaptable schedules usually need to include a core sleep.
