Zoidberg
Zoidberg is a schedule that started as a somewhat serious attempt but
is now largely a
joke. It contains 6 naps by default and places
them extremely close together.
Impossibility
Zoidberg is impossible both in theory and so far in practice. Its premise
is to allow for a
CL6-like sleep total without the inconvenience of
sleeping during the day, but the placement of naps so close to each other
leads the body to consider them as an interrupted
core, without being
able to initiate
compression. Also, no
pressure management is
possible as the sleeps are not equidistant.
Z-Cores
Z-Cores, which means cores interrupted every 20 minutes, have seen some use
when in emergency situations. This largely prevents
SWS, leading to an
easier wake in some situations. Along with this, some have witnessed what
seems like a higher sleep quality than simply shortened mono of the same
duration. A possible explanation is an increase in
SO-Vitals in the
short term. Long term use of Z-Cores has not seen success.
Danger
Along with being impossible in the long term, attempts have caused sleepers
to continue waking every 20 minutes even after the end of their unsuccessful
adaptation. This leads to significant problems with sleep quality even
when trying to recover afterwards. How long this happens for is not
documented.
